Things don’t look so good for Lea Michele at the beginning of her “Cannonball” video. Alone in what looks to be a dark, leaky attic, Michele is stuck inside.
As the walls start to fall, sunlight glares in to reveal Michele in happier spirits as she sings, “I got this new beginning and I’ll fly like a cannonball.”
“Cannonball” is the lead single off the Glee actress’ forthcoming debut, Louder, out March 4 through Columbia Records. Last month she dropped another new song, “Battlefield.”
“Louder really encompasses my experiences over this past year and my journey as an artist up to this point,” Michele said in a press release. “There’s a lot of emotion but it’s also very encouraging and hopeful — it’s about pushing forward and living your life in a way that’s louder, stronger and bolder. I’m so excited to share this new side of me with my fans.”
